Choux Pastry

Serves: 2 to (4)
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Baking Time: 15 min

Ingredients:
75g (150g) plain flour
40g (75g) butter
2 (4) eggs
100ml (200ml) water
1 tbsp water
1 forcing bag (optional)

Ingredients:
225g plain flour
110g butter
6 eggs
370ml water
2 tbsp water
1 forcing bag (optional)

MAGIMIX 5200:
Serves: 8
Preparation Time: 7 minutes
Baking Time: 15mins
Number of Puff Pastries: 60
Ingredients:
300g plain flour
150g butter
8 eggs
500ml water
2 tbsp water
1 forcing bag (optional)

Method (all models):
  1. Preheat oven to 180deg C (gas mark 4).
  2. Pour the water into a pan.
  3. Add the diced butter and the sugar.
  4. Bring to the boil.
  5. Remove from heat and tip in all the flour.
  6. Mix quickly with the spatula.
  7. Return to the heat for approx 1 minute until the dough forms a ball and no longer sticks to the sides of the pan.
  8. Draw aside and place dough in the bowl with the dough hook.
  9. Process for 1 minute.
  10. Add eggs one by one via the feed tube.
  11. Process for a further 1 minute.
  12. Lightly oil a baking tray.
  13. Transfer the mixture to a forcing bag with a plain nozzle (or use a teaspoon).
  14. Pipe out small mounds into the tray, making sure they are well spaced.
  15. Bake for 15 mins at 180 deg C (gas mark 4)
Fill the puff pastries with pastry cream, chocolate cream or sweetened whipped cream for a delicious dessert.
