Shortcrust Pastry

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
To Make Dough: 300g (600g)
Ingredients:
190g (380g) plain flour
90g (180g) softened butter
1 pinch of salt
50ml (100ml) water

MAGIMIX 4200:
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
To Make Dough: 900g
Ingredients:
550g plain flour
250g softened butter
2 pinches of salt
140ml water

MAGIMIX 5200:
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
To Make Dough: 1.3kg
Ingredients:
800g plain flour
250g softened butter
2 pinches of salt
300ml water

Method (all models):
  1. Place the flour, salt and diced butter in the bowl and fitted with the dough blade
  2. Switch on processor
  3. Add water via the feed tube
  4. Continue blending
  5. Switch off as soon as the dough forms a ball
  6. Leave to cool for 1 hour
Notes:
  • 300g of dough is sufficient for a 30cm pie dish
  • If the mixture fails to form a ball, add a little water
  • The amount of water required will depend on the absorbency of the flour
